As I was watching this program on CNN this morning, there was a debate on whether christians should believe in miracle and not medicine, well if I may ask a hypothetical question, "Given an option to choose between dying of cancer, and choosing whether part of your body can be used as a stem cell to develop the tissue or the gene that is required to heal the cancer in your body, what realy would you go for?" It is a difficult question and it realy kept me thinking, what is the role of religion in our lives? It is right to shan any developments that might give us life for the sake of religious princimples and dogma?
I believe that when GOD gave us knowledge, HE intended that we use it for the sake of making our life better. And what a better way than to improve on the scientific knowledge that we may have? It is true that ethics should guid us in whatever we do. But what is the ethics behind it if we can not save a soul because of religion and other obstacles? I believe that we as the human race should think again obout our religious idiologies in terms of saving human life.
