Do you care of the peole living with HIV/Aids?
About this event: VOLUNTEER MANAGEMENT TRAINING

Just thinking of you as one of the people living with HIV/Aids is one thing that should make you ask the following question, "How would you feel if you are shunned by friends because of your status?" It is disheartenning indead. During my encounter with some of the PLWA during the training, I came to realise that we need to come together to realy fight the stigma. May be this time it is your neighbour and the next time it is your brother or sister. We need to do a lot of work to remove the stigma and embrace these angels into our society because it is not their fault that they are HIV positive.

We too need love!
Thanks for this wonderful insight!
Almost 4 years ago, I had gone to visit a friend in hospital. His next neighbour was HIV positive and was in great pain. Everytime I would go to hospital, I would carry something for my friend as well as him and to him everytime he would see me that was the time he would realize he needed something! At first, I thought, why not ask his many relatives, but then I promised myself not to get tired with his demands. I would look at him and wonder "why suffer this much, where did he get HIV from?" What I did not know is that, I was positive too! When I remember the man, I thank God that I did my best. What if I had shunned him, I would definitely have sent him to the grave with just my remorseful actions.
So, as you have put it so well, one never knows, it might be your neighbour, sister, brother or even you! Today it's me, tomorrow someone else, love and care is all we need!

When we talk about PLWHA we think they are some where very far locked in a room but some times we need to realize that they are so much around and within us.
I always beleive that everyone in this world is either infected or affected with HIV/AIDs and this should be the reason number 1 why we should care for PLWHA

why we as involved group doesn't need blood test to know our status
It's very painful when somebody is committed advocating for AIDS awareness but cannot feel free and go for HIV/AIDS test. let's not cheat ourselves by preaching water and taking alcohol, we are supposed to ready and committed to do what we've volunteered to do and be role models to others.

HIV positive people should be treated nicely
They need support and love which in many cases, they are deprived of. In Bangladesh, they are not treated nicely which is very cruel, mean and sad. We should try to make their limited time filled up with love. We should treat them just like we treat everyone else.

HIV positive people should be treated nicely
Yeh, It is sad, real SAD to hear that poeple with HIV/Aids are not treated kindly in your area. We hope and pray that those who do not treat them well will come to realize that whichever the status, everyone is still a human bieng with blood running along their veins. One does not have green blood just because they are HIV+.

Thats too sad
Actually, many people think that it is a punishment by god for some sin. Thats so stupid. Even some educated people don't seem to understand.
